The world of watches is usually round. It is a lot more common for a dial to be circular however we are in age of all things different shapes and sizes. Square faced watches are becoming more and more popular nowadays. Here are four straight edge timepieces for you to explore.
Tag Heuer Monaco
The Tag Heuer Monaco is the first in the mix of straight edge timepieces. A 39mm stainless case with glare-proof sapphire crystal and deployment clasp. The striking part of this piece is the vibrant red highlights on the hands and two sub dial hands. The watch has an automatic Calibre 11 automatic movement as well as a 42 power reserve. The blue dial has been designed with racing stripes and constructed with a blue leather strap making it a rather sporty number.
Bell & Ross Aviation
The Bell & Ross Aviation is a Limited Edition exclusive for The Watch Gallery. Aviation watches are designed for professionals with a design inspired by aircrafts. There have been only 50 pieces made with the number (1-50) on each case back.
The stunning piece has a 42mm black PVD stainless steel case attached to a heavy duty rubber strap. It features a date window directly below the 12 o’clock mark. There are 3 splashes of signature blue on the hour and GMT hands.

Hermes Cape Cod
This Hermes Paris timepiece is from the Cape Cod collection. This collection was named after the destination Cape Codwatch based on the East Coast of the United States. There are rounded elements to this watch on the case corners. This is a very smart watch complete with a dark brown leather strap. It also features a folding clasp and with an automatic movement.
Each of the watches mentioned still have some sort of circular element to them. It could be that watch designers just really can’t keep away from having some sort of curve within their designs. But have a final straight edge piece the Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso.
Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso
This Jaeger Lecoultre watch comes from the Reverso collection. An elegant piece most likely worn with smart attire on special occasions.. A final piece with all straight edges, except for the one sub dial located at the 6 o’clock mark. The unique element to this watch is the reverse function of the case. This element offers owners two ways to wear the piece, clock facing or a personalised engraved background.
