Growing from their recent exploits together, Chopard and Porsche Motorsports have released a new wristwatch marking the collaboration between the 2 companies. Introducing the Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Edition dedicated to the new Porsche 919 Hybrid car that is being used at this year 24hr Le Mans endurance race.
The Superfast Chrono Porsche 919 Edition is crafted using elements from the Hybrid Porsche 919 in its design and takes those elements and incorporates them perfectly inside a 45mm case. The 45mm diameter makes it a great size when including Chopard’s mechanical self-winding chronograph Chopard 03.05-M movement. With 45 jewels and 60-hour power reserve it’s definitely clear that this watch means business! The movement is visible through a crystal caseback with an inscription highlighting the partnership between Chopard and Porsche.
The watch utilizes an opaline silver-toned dial with red inner bezel ring transfers and small details that tie it to the Porsche Hybrid 919. This is seen with the stripes on the dial that are used to evoke the rear diffuser of the Porsche 919 along with the red rectangular “919” logo appearing inside the 9 o’clock subdial (the same number used on the Porsche 919 racing cars). Lastly, a rubber strap is used as homage to the slick tyres that help the Porsche navigate around the track with ease.
This new timepiece by Chopard is the perfect match for the new Porsche 919 Hybrid and is produced in a strictly limited number of 919 pieces and is a great addition to Chopard’s already impressive CV. For more info, please visit chopard.com
